Description:
(For Jenna) Sorry it took me a couple of days to drag this recipe out.
I serve this warm as a dessert with plenty of whipped cream, but it is also quite nice eaten cold as a slice of cake.
Sometimes I use a different fruit, like peaches, raspberries or fresh cherries.
Ingredients:
- 150 grams of butter, melted
- 2 cups, approx, of well drained, lightly stewed apples, or a med can of apple pie filling.
- 1/2 cup sugar
-2 eggs
-2 cups of self raising flour
-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
-icing sugar to dust
You can also add:
- 1/2 cup sultanas
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together and spoon into a well greased 20-23cm paper-lined springform pan.
Fan bake @ 160°c ( 320°f ) for 40-45 mins, or until golden & well cooked in the middle. Cool on a cake rack before serving. Lightly dust with icing sugar.
This sounds really easy, or am I just misreading it? Do you really just throw all the ingredients together & then into the pan? No beating or creaming or other weird cooking things? lol
ReplyDeleteHiya Donna,
ReplyDeleteYeah no beating or creaming or weird stuff. I just sift the dry ingredients & add everything else & stir to combine....
Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI hoped you were lurking around.
I am sorta, was about to go and get dinner started...
ReplyDeletewell this sounds really nice so I will be trying it.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna go browse some more blogs, might catch up with you later then xx

ReplyDeletedoes sound nice.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to add preservatives! lmao
ReplyDeleteoh this sounds good.. gonna nab it.

ReplyDeleteOkay, I can totally do that.
ReplyDeletebut,

ReplyDeleteSultanas are golden raisins.
Is this a picture from ur kitchen? Man it looks soooooooooooooo good.. It would go nicel with my coffee right now.....
ReplyDeleteNo it's not a picture of mine, my g/f Rachel emailed it to me about a month ago after she finally tried the recipe (I only gave it to her like 6 years ago! lol)
ReplyDeletewell. i will try it,cant until I get the pan... What kind of paper to line the pan with?? parchment? Wax?
ReplyDeleteIt's just called baking paper here....it's definitely not waxed. I don't always bother lining the bottom of the tin, my springform pans are non stick so I usually can get away with just lightly greasing them.
ReplyDeleteok thats what i was gonna ask next..... i will probably just try that way.. ty
ReplyDeletesounds nice I love apple pie served hot with ice cream. i'm gonna try your recipe :)
ReplyDeleteI've been baking everything lately, cookies, brownies, this looks really good altho I'm torn should I try this one or the pineapple cheesecake first...hmm I'll have to flip a coin.

ReplyDeleteYeah it's the one that I keep coming back to, I usually always have the ingredients on hand to make this. I love apple pie but my pastry skills aren't the flashest.
