I love browsing 2nd hand book stores, and whilst a stall at the markets doesn't quite cut it I have to admit they had a pretty decent selection.
The inscription in the book intrigues me, it goes like this.....
Dear Jack,
Hope you like, I loved it so
got you a copy. It is about
chocolate, shoes & magic
Great
Love & Cuddles Joanne
So of course I am dying to know.......Did Jack love it as much as Joanne did????
oh and bonus points if you can work out the book title (Lee excluded)
ReplyDeleteIs it Jacked Off by Fell Atio? lol
ReplyDeleteChocolate, shoes and magic.... I have no idea (but don't tell yet! ;-)
ReplyDelete"Great Love and Cuddles" ~ what a NICE inscription!!
So okay... some guesses: Like Water for Chocolate ~ I don't remember shoes being a big part of it, but it was quite magical~
No chocolate in The Wizard of Oz books, altho magic and shoes fit well there...
Charlie and the chocolate factory? best fake guess I can come up with. I think he may have enjoyed it. Considering it ended up in a used book store. I have to question it. Unless he passed and it was sold.
ReplyDeleteOne of those little mysteries that may never be solved.
ReplyDeleteI love books too.
I wondered that too. I'm so attached to my books I can't bear to part with them.
ReplyDelete& on a side note, no one has come close to the title yet.
I was just attempting humor with my guess. My other guess would be something like Tuck everlasting. I have a terrible time letting go of anything, let alone books! I always feel sorry for whoever helps us move. I never learned to properly pack books so I dont break anyone's backs ;)
ReplyDeleteI love inscriptions too.I also love this site.

My mother owned a book exchange which is proof positive that you don't need to keep a book to love reading them. And why pay full price for one when you can get it, for way less than half price lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool inscription. I have no idea the title. I love browsing the stores for books. Sadly Borders closed here. Until they quit publishing, I will never buy a kindle.
ReplyDeleteawesome site thanks
ReplyDeleteEvery year or two I stock my bookshelf at the public library sale... then I just work my way through them and give them back! $15-20 buys me a couple year's worth of reading I'd say.
ReplyDeleteI've looked at them... but just don't really love the idea! Books are so ... tactile. Non-energy consuming. Portable. And no big deal if it gets dropped :-)
ReplyDeleteA lil ditty about Jack and Diane....two Americans growing up as fast as they can.....oooooooops sorry!! You were talking about Jack and Joanne..............lol
ReplyDeleteI do like that song ;)
ReplyDeleteOkay. Tell. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave you read the book Chocolat by Joanne Harris? or seen the movie?
ReplyDeleteThe book I picked up is called The Lollipop Shoes. It continues the story of Vianne Rochet & her daughter Anouk. Enjoyable read.
I saw the movie :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Angie ~ I love playing any sort of '20 questions' or trivia game!
